The internet is a worldwide network that connects people to one another no matter how many miles apart they are. The internet is used as a news source, a place to buy goods, a communication device, entertainment, a place to connect to other people, and so much more. Anything that exists online is considered a part of the internet. The invention of the internet completely changed the world, and has allowed for the world to become so much more advanced. Instead of going to the library and looking through books to do research, we can now Google a question or topic and receive millions of results in just one second. Instead of communicating with one another through the mail, we are now able to talk with people on the other side of the world in real time. The internet has provided so many benefits to humanity, but there are some downsides to this great technology. Humans have much shorter attention spans now because we are so used to getting everything we want in just a split second. And if we don’t like what we see, all it takes is a click to move on to something else. The internet can be very helpful, but we need to take into consideration how it may be changing us for the worse.
